The weather for this weekend is looking great! A ridge of high pressure is currently set up in the northeastern US and this is contributing to fair weather. What started off as a cooler week will progressively get warmer over the next few days and the warmth will continue into the weekend as the ridge slowly drifts east. Weekend highs are looking to be in the low to mid 80s. The normal for this time of year is around 77°.
Saturday will be mainly sunny all day. Sunday will start off mostly-to-partly sunny and clouds will increase later in the evening as a weak front approaches the area. Overnight Sunday could see some rain chances, depending on the strength of the front. Overall, it will be a pretty superb weekend to get out and do some yard work, tan, or just enjoy the summer like weather. Check out the Thurston Classic in Meadville if you have time. Have a great rest of the work week and weekend!

Tonight's Low Temps
I'm working on creating a weather model that will predict high and low temperatures around the county. The model is still in beta mode and will need a few minor tweaks but I'll be testing it out over the next couple of weeks. With that being said, here are tonight's lows as forecasted by my weather model. I have a feeling they might be a little too high but we will see.

Venus Transit
On June 5, Venus will cross in front of the sun and will give people a chance to view the Venus Transit, a rare event. The next one will be in the year 2117 so now is the chance to see it. It will begin at 6:04 PM and will end at 12:51 AM and will appear as a tiny black dot slowly moving across the sun. Remember, it is a health risk to look directly at the sun. This will cause blindness if done at long periods of time. There are ways to view this event safely and these ways can be found at this link:

I think the best time to view it would be at sunset when the sun is on the horizon and you can look at it without going blind.
